What does IRATA do in practice?
The association and its certified individuals are responsible for:
Standardization: Developing rigorous safety procedures and guidelines for work and rescue techniques.
Technician Certification: Awarding certifications (so-called "tickets") at three levels (L1, L2, L3) that are recognized worldwide.
Operational Work: IRATA-certified technicians perform tasks in difficult-to-access areas where the use of scaffolding or cranes is impossible or uneconomical.

Offshore: Inspections, maintenance, and welding on oil platforms. Wind Energy: Wind turbine blade servicing and repair.

Certification Levels
Level 1 (Technician): Performs simple tasks under direct supervision; knows basic rappelling and descent techniques.
Level 2 (Experienced Technician): Has at least 1,000 hours of experience; can construct work stations and perform more complex rescues.
Level 3 (Supervisor): Responsible for work planning, risk assessment, and safety supervision of the entire team.
